Tillandsia butzii is amazing, with a rather whimsical, bulbous-based foliage which, over time, creates a Medusa-like specimen. The leaves are speckled and it bears beautiful, carmine colored inflorescence. It likes a humid cool-ish climate. As with other myrmecophytic & pseudobulbous species letting water collect inside the base may encorage rotting.
