Petrocosmeas are gaining popularity in gesneriad circles. They typically share many of the aspects of Saintpaulia (African violets) but can tolerate a bit cooler temps and i’ve been told they may be a little more sensitive to overwatering - although i’ve not really seen that first hand. Personally, i find they do suprisingly well as a terrarium plant as long as not top-watered (or just be careful to not let water stand in the crowns).
The amazing claim to fame for many are the tightly imbricated (shingling) crown of foliage that is whiskered all over, along with the showy flowers. 'Keystone's Angora' bears very silky foliage.
It species makes a beautiful specimen that is great for show.
