From 1200-1500m in Colombian cloud forests, this adorable little species is the genetic source of all the waterfall patterning in the fancy waterfall-patterned Miltonia hybrids. As loud and showy as are the hybrids, I still vastly prefer this species for the grace of its slim grassy foliage and cheerfully large flowers, typically borne 3-5 to a stem.
As this plant hails from a rather narrow band of elevation, it isnt the most forgiving - preferring humid and rather shady locations. It is not reccomended as a windowsill type of plant.
