This is an outstanding Indian species with both spectacular foliage and colorful hot-pink flowers. It is not ideal in warm climates, instead preferring moist, humid and int-coolish temps. Its habit can be up to 8-10” tall but takes really well to trimming. It also rambles and readily roots along becoming a spreading mat.
It should do really well as a terrarium or greenhouse specimen.
In summer 2016, I stuck one outside as a bedding plant to see how it would fare over the summer (here in Vermont). To my suprise, it transitioned really well and made a nice little carpet-like accent by summer's end. Although it did well for me outside (in shade), it should not be considered a typical bedding plant - but reserved for special places (moist shady, not overly hot spots).
Potted clumps in 3" pots.
