Dendrobium cariniferum is a showy, broad-ranging, Nigrohirsutae section species known from Himalaya China / Assamto Vietnam. It is described as occurring in humid forests at elevations of 450 to 1800 meters. Its rather broad range probably accounts for why I find it to be fairly adaptable to cultivation.
My mature plant of this species is about 16" tall. During late winter-spring, it develops numerous 2-3 flowered clusters of very attractive, heavy substance, waxy white & orange flowers.
Blooming Size Keiki-grown plant. Each bearing several canes of which average 6-14" tall, established on aprox. 8" X 4" hardwood shingle-slabs.
