Mountain Orchids

Begonia "U476"

Collected by Mary Sizemore, in Vietnam, this rhizomatous plant is a fairly slow grower and somewhat along the genetic lines of B. versicolor.   It can get fairly large with leaves in excess of 6" dia.  It seems to prefer a terrarium (as do so many other awesome species) but is not overly difficult.

At one point, it was thought that this was the species: B. filiformis.  However, while there are distinct similarities in foliage, the flowers of this differs greatly from B. filiformis.

These plants are currently in 3" pots.
