Mountain Orchids

Begonia 'Silver Queen'

Regrettably this plant, which was obtained as "Begonia rex (Putzeys)", isn't.   It is, however, a showy derivative of it, dating was back to around 1875!

Like many Rexes in general, these seem to grow well with a similar culture one would expect for this section - namely, a temperate climate that doesn't get overly hot and yet offers decent humidity at all times.  The plants can get decent sized so, if terrarium-grown, allow for full height & width.  Otherwise they make great garden and pot subjects.

Offered here in 2 1/2" - 3" pots.
