This is a very attractive hybrid (B. hemsleyana X (B. circumlobata x B. ‘The Chief’)), exhibits the divided/palmate leaf trait of hemsleyana while the other parentage extends a more broad leaf surface and sturdier stature. The parent, B. hemsleyana, also seems to impart quite a bit of cool tolerance and, for me, the plant has been willingly continuing to grow fairly actively even though the cooler winter months in the greenhouse.
Young plants' leaves tend to be lighter - each new leaf becoming more intensely colored as the plant develops.
Sturdy young plants, currently in 2 1/2" pots.
