I'm not certain of the identity of this plant. It came as an unnamed Begonia from China, and a number of people in the know claim its a variation of B. versicolor. It might be, but it's also quite different in my opinion - i'm inclined to believe that it'll eventually turn out to be something else.
Whatever it is, the foliage on a well grown and mature example of this is outstanding! It is a stunning blend of green, Amethyst hairs, red veins, and a silver marbling. Its leaves seem to get larger and are held more upright than what we know as customary for B. versicolor.
Their preference for humidity makes them terrific terrarium plants! These are young plants, currently in 2 1/2" pots.
