Sometimes seen as in cultivation labelled as Begonia subacida, it has been pointed out that this is incorrect and that subacida and U304 are distinct, if similar, species (compare the leaf petioles for distinction).
Begonia U304 is a beautiful species. So far, it seems fairly easy / fast growing. It's main claim to fame is its most attractive round, red-backedleaves with central spot (petiole base) of near white, and a leaf petiole which are clothed in near-white "bracts". Seems to be easy to grow - but is probably best with above average humidity.
These are currently in 2 1/2" pots.
