Begonia crispula is another very unusual and interesting Begonia species. This one hails from Brazil. Its primary claim to fame is for its very attractive crinkle-textured kidney-shaped foliage. Its blooms are white, smallish, and held atop somewhat wiry stems.
It is a very compact plant and appreciates good humidity - thus lending itself to terrariums. However, this species also seems a little water-sensitive: excess water on the foliage can encourage leaf rot. Thus, very careful watering and/or growing the plant a tad on the dry side (good humidity though) seems to work best, even if being grown in a semi-closed / humid terrarium setting.
These are husky plants, currently in 3" pots.
