Begonia beijnenii is another stunning lithophytic (rock growing) rhizomatous species only recently described (2020) from San Vicente area, Palawan Island (Philippines). This is one of the newest must-have species for the Begonia enthusiast!
It has proven to be very amenable to cultivation. Clearly, like most of the Begonias, overwatering it is not reccomended. However, it has not proven to require rock surfaces in cultivation. It is a small species and clumps nicely, its bright pink flowers offer a lovely contrast to the dark mottled leaves. Note: the species can vary from solid green to heavily mottled leaves. All the plants offered here are of the mottled form.
Offered here are established young, blooming size plants in a 2" pots.
