Begonia aurantiflora is another really pretty Chinese limestone region species. This rhizomatous species stays low and forms a short, horizontally creeping rhizome sporting very beautifully marked & patterned foliage with bright orange flowers.
It is fairly new to cultivation and my growing experience with it is somewhat limited. It so far has responded very well to careful terrarium-type culture. Like so many other rock dwelling species, great care should be exercised to not overwater. Additionally, I prefer to incorporate a percentage of limestone chippings into the coarse growing mix.
Offered here as plants in 3" pots.
