Begonia amphioxus is another quite rare species of humid rainforests of Borneo. As you can see, it bears strange shaped leaves of emerald green boldly spotted in garnet red. It also bears a rather stiffly textured leaf - be careful in handling and they can crack easily.
It does well as a terrarium specimen but needs good light to do well. As such, it also may be grown as a stunning accent in a warm humid greenhouse. It also takes well to being pinched back which serves to make it bushier.
