Begonia acerifolia

Begonia acerifolia (Maple-leaved Begonia) is a wonderful thick stem type species from Ecuador & Peru and occurs at elevations of 1600 - 3000m.  It  is NOT a terrarium-type species and can be a bit of a challenge to grow well.  It seems to prefer a fairly decent amount of light, and to not be too wet.

This form of the species produces exceedingly showy palmate leaves dramatically marked in silvery white!  New foliage often emerges tinted a purple tone.

Nicely developed seed-grown plants in 2 1/2" pots.
