Sssshhhhh...........

    Lights out.....................

       Time for an Orchid Presentation!

For those of you who have the unenviable task of arranging for speakers for your local Orchid Society, I thought that I would make you aware that I have several presentations available. I also am a very small business and may not be available at all times so please feel free to Email, Write or Call me to check my schedule. I only rarely travel in mid-winter.

Below is a list of currently available programs. From time to time, I create new ones as well as amend & supplement the existing ones as information changes and/or better slides are taken. All programs contain areas on culture, unless stated otherwise. All photography within these programs are my own.

"The World Of Miniature Orchids" :

An in-depth look at the multitudes of miniature and diminutive Orchids. Focuses on species. Includes cultural tips. New for 2001.

"Intermediate & Cool Growing Species;  A Flavor For Everyone" :

This one is a look at many different genera & species, many of them rather rare and/or unusual. Includes a bit on culture but that portion is targeted mainly toward those cooler growers since this is the area that many often see most trouble.

"The Dendrobiums; New Guinea Style" :

An in-depth look into the many faces of the genus Dendrobium with the emphasis on the mid-upper elevation New Guinea sections.

"The Lengths We Grow To" :

This program is a look at the many different growing spaces, arrangements & configurations that I have seen people adopt for their Orchid collections. It shows everything from windowsills to highly elaborate greenhouses, from attics to basements, natural light to artificial. Many ingenious ideas are shown.

"The Lesser Pleurothallids; When Less Is More!":

Prepared for the 1999 E.O.C., this one covers most all of the "other" genera in the Pleurothallid family except for Masdevallia and Dracula.

"A Multitude of Masdevallias" :

A broad view into the large genus of Masdevallias with an emphasis primarily on culture as well as the species.

"Orchid Photography; Keeping It Simple" :

A fairly short program that uses slides and some actual props to show my simplified methods and fundamentals for orchid photography.

As for those minor details:

As a speaker, I request a stipend of $200 for my time and preparation.

If there is travel involved, I also request a reimbursement for expenses incurred (this includes mileage if I drive and airfare if or as needed). Please realize that this is Vermont and that my nearest national airport is two hours away to begin with. If it is any consolation, "I travel cheaply- no first class tickets or "Hilton accommodations" expected". If the airfare & travel expenses are substantial, the stipend mentioned above may be negotiable.

Many of you, upon the decision to invite me to speak to your society, may find this "bio" helpful for your newsletters.

I will gladly offer several plants for your society's raffle table (assuming you have one) during the meeting. (Please mention this in advance so that I may plan on bringing plants accordingly.)

Please inform me if I am to bring plants for sale & the approximate size of your society so that I may also plan accordingly.

Sincerely;
